Bullet Journal 2019 Set Up

Today is the last day of 2018. Here is my new Bullet Journal set up for 2019.

Of course I went back to my all time fave, a new Leuchtturm 1917 journal, this time in Nordic Blue color. You just can't go wrong with a Leuchtturm journal, you know?

New Hair, Who Dis?

Decided on a whim that I'm going to chop off some lengths of my hair. I've had it grown out quite a bit, it has reached my armpits. But due to hair fall (out of stress and whatnot), I decided I needed to lighten up. And I thought it was a great decision. I love my new shorter 'do, although I still need to get the hang on styling it myself. But nevertheless, it's easier to manage (obviously) and I think it made me more adventurous in using my styling tools that has been collecting dusts in my drawers.

So here's to New Hair and adios to the negative vibes that has been weighing on my shoulders this year. I'm praying for a much much better new year. Only a few days to go until 2019.

Bullet Journal Plan

'Tis the season to be jolly!
It's December already, and that can only mean two things: Christmas and New Year!

My theme for this month is the Christmas spirit, with many Christmas lights, snowflakes, snowman and Christmas ornaments. The main color is red, obviously.

Hardcover Happiness

I'm beyond ecstatic about my new purchases from amazon.com: "Cupcakes and Cashmere At Home" by Emily Schuman, "World of Style" by Aimee Song and of course my all time favorite notebook for bullet journaling.. the A5 dotted Leuchtturm1917 book in nordic blue.

I specifically bought these books in their hard cover version, because I've been investing on a collection of coffee table book on topics and/or authors that I love.

I'm so happy right now.

My Favorite Trio

You know my love of healing crystals by now.

These are my current go-to crystals at the moment: Clear Quartz, Citrine and Black Tourmaline. I meditate with these trio often and I brought them with me almost everywhere or anytime I needed a little boost of pick me up energy.

The Love Languages

Have you ever heard of the 5 Love Languages? I never really gave much thought about it until I now realize that it is crucial to identify your love languages when you're married, in a serious long term relationship or basically any kind of relationships. These languages of love can translate to friendships and parent/child relationships, too.

What are the 5 love languages? They are: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch. Every person has different type of love languages. According to the concept, the way you feel loved is also the way you show love.

I never really understood what my love language is. But I think unconsciously I've been doing it already. After reading about the 5 love languages now I understood why I do what I do.

I just found out that my love language is Words of Affirmation. After understanding deeper of what it means, I find it really fits me. Although I personally also strongly agree that "action speak louder than words", turns out that I need Words of Affirmation. I noticed that positive verbal gestures goes a long way for me. Words such as "I love you" or "good job" or "you look really nice" makes me feel acknowledged. I realized that I have been doing the same in return to others. I like to give positive verbal gestures to everyone. For example: I've come to the realization that more often than not I like to use words of affirmation when talking to my kids. I hope it gives them a boost of confidence by hearing those verbal gestures. The way it has the same impact with myself.

My husband on the other hand, has the love language of Quality Time. Meaning: "In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says I Love You like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful."

I tried my best to provide him with his type of love language. I think I did. I always try to be present and always be there for him. But I need something in return too. I need my words of affirmation. I hope by finding out what we each need might change our relationship for the better. Hopefully we both can grow for the better.

I want to know what your love language is (take the test here) and tell me all about it! I would love to hear about how different (or perhaps the same) love languages between you and your partner plays a big role in your relationship.

Fashion Friday: Neutrals

I'm currently really into a lighter neutrals such as white, tan, light brown and (of course) taupe. I haven't been confident enough to pull off an all white ensemble because I always thought it might accentuate my far from perfect body flaws. But as I got older, I have come to terms with my 'flaws' and the beauty of it.

What I'm wearing:
H&M sleeveless t-shirt in white (not available online) - Zara denim pants (no longer available) - Vans Old Skool SK8 in desert taupe (here) - Chanel classic flap bag - Quay x Desi "Don't @ Me" sunglasses in white (here)

All in the Taupe

Other than Black and White, the Taupe color family is another favorite of mine. I love how it looks 'different' yet neutral at the same time. I'm loving my current collection of taupe fashion items: Chanel classic flap bag (thanks, Mom!), Chanel Boy bag and my new Vans Old Skool SK8.

What is your favorite color and why? I'd love to hear it.

Fashion Friday: The Uniform

As you can already probably tell, my 'uniform' consists mainly of blacks and whites.

Bullet Journal Plan

I can't believe it's September already! So on to another monthly bullet journal layout plan!

Since September is known for the start of Fall season, I thought I'd go for a little "Fall" feel with the theme. Hence, the fallen leaves strewn all over the pages in brown, green and a little blue color scheme (because I like those colors together rather than using the 'normal' Fall colors).

Don't @ Me

Quay x Desi "Don't @ Me" sunglasses

I love sunglasses. I love classic sunglasses style that stand the test of time. I know what I like, I know what suits me, and I stick to it. I've had accumulated a collection of sunglasses, which I'm proud to say can be considered as classic timeless pieces. They've stand the test of time. I don't go around buying one just because they're on trend.

To add to my 'timeless' family of sunglasses, I recently purchased Quay Australia's sunglasses in collaboration with one of my favorite beauty blogger, Desi Perkins. Desi has been collaborating with Quay Australia for a while now and has been coming out with so many amazing collection of sunglasses. However, none have really tickled my fancy. The reason is mainly because I don't think the other designs really suited my face shape and style. And then, they came out with Quay x Desi "Don't @ Me" sunglasses (see photo above)! They're so beautiful and fit my aesthetic to perfection. They come in two colors: black and white. Of course I had to get both. And may I add, I was not disappointed! They've easily become my everyday go-to sunglasses no matter where I'm going. They are super comfortable, lightweight and oh so chic.

If you want to get yourself a pair (or two!) go to their website now! And prepare to not be disappointed.

My Crystals

If you've been following me, you might have remembered I've talked about my love of crystals in my previous blog posts (here). In case you haven't been following me, I use crystals for meditations. As a matter of fact, I've added more crystals and some chakra stones to my collection. I even got myself some burning sage through Amazon to to a proper 'cleanse' for my crystals.

If you're interested, I bought my crystals from this awesome online shop called Beverly Oaks through Amazon.com. They also have their instagram page @beverlyoaks if you want to check them out.

Tokyo Disney Food

Let's talk Disney food. I've been fortunate enough to travel around to (almost) all of the Disney parks around the world.

This summer I went with my family to Japan. Obviously, we can't leave out a trip to the Disney parks. And here I want to share with you some of my favorite food/drinks in Tokyo Disney parks: both Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea.

Let's get to it.

Bullet Journal Plan

For the month of May I have decided to do a Star Wars theme. I'm not really good at drawing or sketching, so I rely heavily with Star Wars themed stickers that I found online. What a life saver! So let's get to it and see how I plan out my May 2018 bullet journal layout.

Easter with The Gunawans

HAPPY EASTER DAY!

This year my parents and I get the chance to host our annual Gunawan's Easter celebration at my parents' house. I took the liberty of becoming the Easter Bunny (decorating the eggs and whatnot). It was so much fun. We ate too much, we talked too much, we laughed too much. That's just what we do in the Gunawan clan.

Going Out Face

No way I am going to call myself a beauty guru, because let's face it, I am really not that good with make up. I am pretty good at what I know, and I know my face well to do my own make up, but that's pretty much it. I know what I like, and as much as I hate to admit, practice does make perfect.

Here are some of my favorite products for my current "going out" look, may it be to a wedding or any events that calls for glamming it up a notch:
